operators understand very well that routine utility operation
is seldom routine. Water and wastewater operations is a skill that
requires requisite training, years of experience, up to date
technologies and proper tools and equipment.
Each utility managed by PGMS,
Inc. is assigned a Chief Operator. This
position is responsible for efficient, compliant ongoing water and
wastewater operations. To achieve this goal, the chief operator
is authorized to use all available resources to make it happen.
Management and support staff are there to ensure the chief operator has
those required resources.
Maintenance
Management Services
Professional General Management
Services, Inc. is keenly aware of costs associated with water and
wastewater utility infrastructure. Capital improvements necessary
to provide water and wastewater utility services are supposed to have a
useful life of decades. Useful life can be realized only with the
proper care and timely predictive maintenance. Our maintenance
management services program has been carefully designed
to ensure capital assets continue to perform for the designed useful
life, and beyond.
Our program involves providing
qualified, trained, well equipped field service technicians with
support services to get the job done right. Computerized
record keeping is used to generate up to date reports on every
moving part in the utility system. This alerts our technicians to
key maintenance scheduling tasks and allows us to locate critical
replacement parts before they may be needed. Down time for any
water or wastewater utility provider should never be an acceptable
option.
Emergency
Services
Each system managed by PGMS,
Inc. is assigned an Emergency Services Officer.
The sole responsibility of this position is to assess risk of potential
emergency conditions and to take steps to address and mitigate those
risks now, before they occur. First, second and third line
support for emergency response are standing by 365 days every year.
